Failing to attend court charges laid in Wallaceburg and Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 8:33 a.m., police located the man on Harvey Street in Chatham. The officer confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to drug offences. The 42-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: failing to attend court and two counts of possessing a controlled substance.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 4:03 p.m., the man attended the Ontario Court of Justice on Grand Avenue in Chatham. The man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend a scheduled court date related to an assault investigation. The 48-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: assault with a weapon.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 9, 2024, at 12:30 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg. Through investigation, the officer confirmed a passenger was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to a 2021 stolen vehicle investigation. The 42-year-old Walpole Island man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: theft, theft of motor vehicle, possession of stolen property and two counts of failing to attend court.
