Update: Six sent to hospital after a crash at Queens Line and Merlin Road

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 10, 2024, at 8:55 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched to a serious motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Queens Line and Merlin Road in Tilbury East Township.

The collision involved two vehicles, one traveling eastbound and the other traveling westbound on Queens Line.

The collision occurred when the westbound vehicle turned south onto Merlin Line, resulting in the vehicles colliding.

As a result of the impact, one of the vehicles veered off the roadway and came to rest in a ditch on the southeast corner of the intersection, while the other vehicle remained in the eastbound lane facing west.

The westbound vehicle was occupied by six individuals, whereas the eastbound vehicle had only the driver.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transported six people to the hospital for medical attention, with one person being airlifted to a London hospital.

Two others were transported by land to neighboring hospitals, one to a London hospital and one to Windsor hospital, for further medical attention.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service Traffic Unit is currently investigating the collision.
