Karen Hunter, executive director of the Chatham Kent Women’s Centre, has issued statement regarding an “ongoing scam” in the community.
“Recently we have received a number of questions from concerned community individuals asking if the Chatham Kent Women’s Centre canvasses for donations door to door or by phone,” Hunter stated.
“Please know that the Chatham Kent Women’s Centre does not send our agency staff or volunteers to canvas door to door asking for monetary or in-kind donations and we do not canvas for donations by phone.”
Hunter added: “Should you be approached by someone asking for donations for the Chatham Kent Women’s Centre, please note they are not acting on behalf of our agency.”
