Failing to attend court charges in Wallaceburg and Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 8 p.m., police responded to James Street and McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg to investigate suspicious activity. Officers located two men and confirmed one was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to assault and mischief investigations. The 27-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: assault, assault with a weapon, mischief, failing to attend court and two counts of failing to comply with an appearance notice.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 2:33 p.m., police located the man on Pine Street in Chatham. The man was wanted on a warrant for failing to make a scheduled court appearance in regard to fraud and firearms offences. The 41-year-old Chatham man was transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: possession of stolen property, fraud under $5,000, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited device/ammunition, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, failing to attend court and five counts of unauthorized use of a credit card.
