Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On July 25, 2024, at 12:13 a.m., police observed a vehicle travel through a red light on Grand Avenue East in Chatham.
The officer conducted a traffic stop and believed the man driving to be under the influence of alcohol.
The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters for breath tests.
The officer also learned the man was prohibited from operating a motor vehicle.
The 44-year-old Chatham man was charged with prohibited driving, impaired driving and having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.
He was released with conditions and a future court date of August 26, 2024. His vehicle was towed and impounded.
