At 8:35 p.m., police responded to Canterbury Street in Chatham to investigate suspicious activity. Officers located the man and confirmed he was wanted for failing to attend court in relation to probation violations. The 26-year-old Chatham man was arrested and released with a new court date of August 26, 2024. He is currently facing the following charges: break-and-enter, possession of stolen property, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 10 p.m., the man attended Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and turned himself in to the police. The male youth was wanted for failing to attend court in relation to a March 2024 assault investigation in Chatham. The 17-year-old Chatham youth was arrested and released with a new court date of August 26, 2024. He is currently facing the following charges: two counts of assault.
