OPP officials allege: The Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were busy ensuring the safety of all drivers during the last long weekend traffic enforcement campaign of the summer.
A total of 76 charges were laid and total of 69 warnings were issued by Lambton OPP officers, from August 30 until the conclusion of the campaign on September 2, 2024.
This year’s campaign focused on the “Big Four” bad driving behaviours: aggressive driving, failure to wear a seatbelt, distracted driving, and impaired driving. These four factors are the leading contributors to death, injury and property damage on Ontario roads and highways.
The Lambton County OPP Labour Day “Big Four” traffic campaign charges are below:
– Speeding: 40 charges
– Failure to wear a seatbelt: 3 charges
– Distracted Driving: 0 charges
– Impaired Driving: 7 charges
