Winter programs scheduled at the Wallaceburg Library in December & January

Title: Welcome Winter
Date: December 21 – January 4
Time: Drop In During Open Hours
Description: Welcome Winter by creating a Snow Globe winter display. Children will have a lot of fun welcoming Winter to Wallaceburg.

Title: Is there a YETI in your Spaghetti?
Date: Friday, January 3 and Saturday, January 4, 2025!
Time: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Description: Where is the Yeti? Is he hiding in your Spaghetti? Join us for TWO days of Yeti inspired fun! Drop in. Registration not required.

Title: Storytime
Date: Session 1: January 16 to February 13, 2025
Session 2: February 27 to March 27, 2025
Time: Thursdays at 10:30 am
Description: Stories, songs and rhymes for children 18 months and older and their caregivers. Registration required.

Title: Reading Buddies
Date: January 16, 23, 30, February 6, 13 & 20
Time: Appointment Times: 6:00 pm/6:30 pm/7:00 pm
Description: Reading Buddies offer free one-on-one assistance to children in grades 1 through 6 who would like to practice reading. Volunteers spend 30 minutes with each child encouraging and motivating them to read using literacy-based games, activities and high interest readers.

Description: A, B, C and 1, 2, 3. Have fun celebrating literacy week with your family and friends at the Wallaceburg Branch! Crafts, scavenger hunts and so much more!

Title: Literacy Fun – PA Day
Date: Friday, January 31
Time: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Description: Celebrate Literacy Week with a craft, scavenger hunt and interactive word and number challenges, located at various stations throughout the Branch. All ages. Registration not required.

Title: Spice Club
Date: Tuesday, January 28
Time: 7:05 pm
Add some spice to your life! Register for the Spice Club at Chatham-Kent Public Library. Call 519-354-2940, text 519-401-7174 or visit search.ckpl.ca and use keywords “spice club”. Each Spice Club kit includes information about the featured spice, two recipe cards and a sample of the spice. Join us on Zoom for a virtual Spice Club discussion on Tuesday, September 24 at 7:05 pm.

Are you new to chess or a chess master? If you’d like to test your strategies or learn some new skills, feel free to drop-in any Tuesday night from 5:45 pm to 7:45 pm. Open to all ages and skill levels. Bring your own board or borrow one from the library. Registration is not required for this free program
