Environment Canada issued a winter weather travel advisory across Chatham-Kent on Friday, January 10, 2024.
Forecasters say hazards, include: Snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm and reduced visibility in areas of heavier snow.
The snow is set to taper off overnight.
“Snow will advance into southwestern Ontario this afternoon,” forecasters say.
“A general 5 cm of snow is expected although some locations may see up to 10 cm or so. Conditions should improve overnight. Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
