Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has made a third quarter (October 1 – December 31) payment totaling $443,141 to the Municipality of Chatham-Kent for hosting Cascades Casino Chatham.
So far, during OLG’s fiscal year (April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025), Chatham-Kent has received $1,324,212.
Since the gaming site opened in April 2001, Chatham-Kent has received $19,123,677.
These payments to host communities are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.
“OLG’s Municipality Contribution Agreement payments help pave the way for Chatham-Kent to build critical infrastructure and fund important programs that make a real difference for residents,” said Trevor Jones, MPP for Chatham-Kent-Leamington, in a press release.
“Gateway Casinos Chatham supports numerous jobs and generates significant economic activity that, in turn, enhances the well-being of our local community.”
Since 1994, host communities in Ontario have received more than $2.2 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.
