Resist arrest & careless use of a firearm charges laid in Tilbury

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On February 13, 2025, at approximately 12:27 a.m., a 53-year-old Tilbury man, who is the subject of an endorsed arrest warrant for careless use of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm, was located in Tilbury by the Chatham-Kent Police Service.

During the attempt to arrest the accused, he failed to comply with commands and assaulted the officer involved in his reprimanding, of which, the officer was unharmed.

The accused was charged with one count of assaulting a peace officer with intent to resist arrest and, one count of resisting a peace officer, along with his outstanding warrants for arrest.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police headquarters, where he is currently held for bail.
