Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation Executive Director Jodi Maroney set to retire in June

Jodi Maroney, Executive Director of the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation, is set to retire this June.

During her nine years as Executive Director – and nearly three years as Director of Development before the Hospice opened – Maroney played a crucial role in shaping the organization’s strong governance framework, building community trust, and securing essential funding for hospice end-of-life care in Chatham-Kent, Hospice officials say.

Her efforts include leading a successful $5.8-million Capital Campaign and raising over $15-million to date, enabling the Chatham-Kent Hospice to care for more than 1,530 families and provide grief and bereavement support to over 1,950 individuals across the municipality—at no cost to them.

“It has been a tremendous honor to be a part of the Chatham-Kent Hospice and Foundation over the years,” Maroney stated, in a media release.

“I have learned many life lessons working at Hospice, and the biggest one is that life is precious. I intend to spend more time with my family and friends as I make the most of each day.”

Marian Redford, Chair of the Board of Directors for Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation, said the Board is deeply grateful for Maroney’s’s remarkable contributions, which have strengthened the organization and positioned them for continued success.

“She has inspired our team, cultivated valuable partnerships, and significantly advanced our impact in the community,” Redford stated, in a media release.

“While her departure marks the end of an extraordinary chapter, we remain steadfast in our mission and vision for the future.”

To find a new Executive Director, the selection committee has engaged Logic Executive Search and Workplace Solutions (Logic), a local professional search firm.

Logic’s expertise in recruiting for the nonprofit sector and deep understanding of the Chatham-Kent community will ensure the selection of an exceptional leader for the Hospice Foundation, Hospice officials say.
