The United Way has announced the addition of three new members to United Way’s Board of Directors: Jeff McFadden, Tracie Booth, and Kyla Tewkesbury.
United Way officials say each brings a wealth of experience, passion, and a deep commitment to serving the community.
Booth is the President of the Lambton Kent Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) and has over 15 years of experience advocating for quality education and student well-being in Chatham-Kent.
“I’m excited to contribute to United Way’s efforts to empower individuals and meet the basic needs of our community,” Booth said, in a media release.
As President of Unifor Local 127, McFadden has long been an advocate for workers’ rights and positive community change.
He is passionate about efforts to support vulnerable populations and ensure that everyone has access to the basic needs they deserve.
“I’m eager to work with United Way to ensure no one in Chatham-Kent goes without the essentials they need to thrive,” McFadden said, in a media release.
“As we see families struggling to make ends meet more frequently, United Way programs that help families to work their way out of poverty are key.”
As Branch Manager at BMO in Chatham-Kent, Tewkesbury has over 19 years of experience in banking and has long been an active participant in United Way’s workplace campaigns.
“United Way’s focus on addressing the root causes of community challenges really resonates with me,” Tewkesbury said, in a press release.
“It’s about creating lasting impact for future generations.”
The United Way is also inviting residents of Chatham-Kent to share their thoughts through a community consultation survey.
“Your feedback will help us shape our future priorities and ensure that our initiatives are aligned with the real needs on the ground,” United Way officials say.
“And as a thank you, by completing the survey, you’ll be entered for a chance to win 1 of 5 $75 gas cards.”
