Stolen credit cards used in Sarnia, fraud charges laid

Sarnia Police Service officials allege: On Saturday, March 29, 2025, police received a report of an overnight theft from a vehicle.

Following the theft, stolen credit cards were used at various stores along Exmouth Street on Friday March 28.

Police were able to identify the suspect via multiple security images of him using the stolen credit cards.

The suspect identity was broadcast to patrolling officers, who quickly located him in the area of Exmouth Street and Capel Street and placed him under arrest.

A subsequent search recovered the victim’s wallet along with the stolen identification and credit cards.

Further investigation revealed the male was subject to a probation order.

A 35-yearold man of no fixed address was held for bail on the following charges:

– Possession of stolen property

– Breach of probation

– Fraudulent use of credit card X 7

Following his bail hearing, the man was released by the courts with conditions.
