Vehicle rammed into a garage door in Ridgetown, multiple charges laid

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 2, 2025, at approximately 3:45 a.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a disturbance at a residence in Ridgetown.

Police received a call from an individual reporting that his partner had rammed her vehicle into his garage door and was pursuing him inside.

Upon arrival, officers found both parties inside the garage.

The woman exhibited signs of impairment, including slurred speech and an odor of alcohol, with an empty container of alcohol found in her vehicle.

The 32-year-old Ridgetown woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

She currently faces the following charges:

– Operation while impaired contrary to section 320.14 (1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

– Adult operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) – contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

– Dangerous Operation contrary to section 320.13 Criminal Code of Canada.

– Mischief over $5,000 contrary to section 430(3) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

She was released with conditions, and a court date of May 12, 2025.

Her driver’s license was suspended for 90 days, and her vehicle was impounded.
