OPP officials allege: Two individuals are facing drug trafficking charges after a search warrant was executed on Walpole Island First Nation.
On May 2, 2025, members from the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Elgin-Middlesex CSCU, Essex CSCU, with the assistance of the West Region OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), Lambton County OPP and Walpole Island Police Service uniform members, executed a search warrant at an address on Altiman Road, Walpole Island First Nation.
Police seized a quantity of suspected fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine, Canadian currency, and other offence-related items.
The combined estimated value of the items seized is over $8,400.
As a result of the investigation, a 41-year-old Walpole Island First Nation man has been charged under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following offences:
– Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order (three counts)
– Fail to comply with probation order
– Possession of a schedule l substance – Methamphetamine
– Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
– Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl
A 33-year-old Walpole Island First Nation woman has been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with:
– Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
– Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl
The accused were released from police custody and are set to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Sarnia on July 2, 2025.
