Chatham-Kent Fire & Rescue has welcomed a new addition to its fleet with the arrival of a 2025 Maxi Metal/Pierce Sabre pumper truck at Station 6 in Dresden. T
he advanced vehicle is expected to boost firefighting capabilities and strengthen emergency response efforts across the community.
Manufactured by Maxi Metal in St. Georges, Quebec, and built on a Pierce Sabre chassis, the new pumper was acquired through Commercial Emergency Equipment in Woodstock, Ontario. It features a 1500 GPM Hale pump with foam capability, a 1000-gallon water tank, a 380-horsepower Cummins ISL9 engine, seating for six firefighters, and a full Whelen lighting package, along with a TFT deck monitor and appliances.
“We’re excited to welcome this new truck to our fleet,” said Assistant Chief Sean McRoberts, in a media release. “It represents a significant investment in the safety of our firefighters and the community.”
The new apparatus replaces P-6, a 2003 International Fort Garry pumper that has served the Dresden area for over two decades.
