Driver clocked at 108 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone

Sarnia Police Service officials allege: On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at approximately 12:20 p.m., members of the Sarnia Police Service – Traffic Services Unit were conducting speed enforcement on Blackwell Sideroad in the City of Sarnia. During the operation, a motor vehicle was observed travelling at a significantly high rate of speed.

Using a radar unit from within the police cruiser, the officer recorded the speed at 108 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone.

The motor vehicle was subsequently stopped, and an investigation was initiated under the Highway Traffic Act. During the investigation, it was discovered that the driver’s license was under suspension.

As a result, a 47 year old Sarnia man as been charged with “Driving While Under Suspension” and “Stunt Driving” under the Highway Traffic Act. The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for 14 days.
