Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On July 18, 2025, the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report that a vehicle had been entered and a wallet was stolen.
The victim, a 26-year-old female from Chatham, stated that there were several unauthorized transactions on her debit card.
Upon investigation and through video surveillance footage obtained from multiple locations, the suspect, a 41-year-old male from Chatham-Kent was identified using the stolen card.
A warrant was issued for the individual’s arrest.
On August 12, 2025, at approximately 9:52 a.m., officers located and arrested the accused at court in connection with an outstanding warrant.
The individual was charged with the following:
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
– Unauthorized Possession of Credit Card
He was later released with conditions and a scheduled future court date of September 10, 2025.
