In Loving Memory of
July 20, 1943 – August 22, 2025
⸻
It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Diane Ross, who left this world with love on August 22, 2025, at the age of 82, surrounded by her devoted daughters.
Born in Chatham on July 20, 1943, Diane was the daughter of the late Nora Eglin and Fred Harris and a long-term resident of Port Lambton. She was the loving wife and best friend of the late Ronald Ross, her soulmate of 50 years. Together they shared a love that never wavered and only grew stronger with time.
Diane was the proud and loving mother of Tammy Ross (Mike) and Shari (Rick) Michiels. She was an adored grandmother to Allie Fice (Jeff), Ricki (Macgregor) Haddon, Bailey (Shawn) Seys, Tara Fice, Ross Fice and Luke Michiels (Kristyn), and a cherished great-grandmother to Otis, Myrah-Lynn, Palmer, Leni, Karter, and Lola. She will be dearly missed by her siblings, Flora (John) Gray and Tom (Margaret) Harris, and is predeceased by her sister Pat Corneil. Diane leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family, Leah, Reese, and Jake Makra, her devoted friend for many years, Chris Reedy, and her casino partner-in-crime Helen Palcoz.
A dedicated member of the Port Lambton Athletics Association and the Sombra Optimist, Diane could often be found coaching baseball, helping with fundraisers, and supporting community events. She also gave her time generously to the Canadian Cancer Society and the soup kitchen.
For more than 25 years, Diane lovingly cared for many children in the Port Lambton area as a trusted babysitter. Diane was known for her love of gardening and Pepsi, and above all, she will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the unwavering love she gave to her family and community. A special thanks to Stephanie, Ashley, Tara and Aashruti, who took special care of mom.
She is reunited at last with her beloved Rossy, where they will continue their journey together. Diane’s love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Arrangements entrusted to the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg. Following her wishes, cremation has taken place.
