Chatham man charged after vehicle repeatedly rammed

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Chatham man is facing several charges after a vehicle was repeatedly rammed on King Street East Thursday evening.

Police said officers responded shortly after 6 p.m. to a report of a motor vehicle collision near William Street South. Witnesses told police a man deliberately collided with another vehicle several times.

Investigators determined the two people involved had recently ended a romantic relationship. No injuries were reported.

A 34-year-old Chatham man was later located and arrested. He is charged with assault with a weapon, mischief, failing to remain at the scene of a collision, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. He was released with conditions and a court date set for Oct. 14.
