Sarnia Police Service officials allege: A 17-year-old Sarnia youth is facing multiple weapons-related charges after allegedly pointing a pistol at two people during an argument on Oct. 7.
Police say the incident happened around 9:07 p.m. in the 1400 block of Exmouth Street, where a man and his girlfriend were attending a social gathering. The accused, who was reportedly intoxicated and argumentative, approached the couple as they were leaving and asked for a ride to confront another person. When they refused, the teen allegedly produced a black pistol and pointed it at them. The victims drove away and called 911.
Officers later arrested the youth at a separate address. Investigation revealed he was already out on bail and under house arrest for previous firearms and drug offences.
He is charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, assault with a weapon, pointing a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
Following a bail hearing, the teen was remanded into custody. The firearm has not yet been recovered.
