Municipal offices and most services across Chatham-Kent will be closed Monday, Oct. 13, in recognition of the Thanksgiving Day holiday.
All arenas, pools, EarlyON programs, and Chatham-Kent Public Library branches will be closed. The Chatham Capitol Theatre, Kiwanis Theatre, CKTickets Box Office, Chatham Cultural Centre, Chatham-Kent Museum, Ridge House Museum, Milner Heritage House, Thames Art Gallery and ARTspace will also be closed for the day.
Cemetery staff will remain on call to assist funeral homes with immediate needs. CK Public Health will be closed, though essential after-hours services will be available by calling 1-866-446-8207. Due to the public health lab schedule, well water sample acceptance will pause Friday, Oct. 10 at 11 a.m. and resume Tuesday, Oct. 14.
Police, fire, and ambulance services will continue to operate 24 hours a day. The Fire Administration office will be closed and reopen Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. Entegrus, Fleet Services, Housing Services, and the Public Utilities Commission will be closed, as will all waste depots, leaf and yard depots, and Ride CK transit services. Waste collection scheduled for Monday will be delayed by one day.
Riverview Gardens administrative offices will be closed, though nursing staff will remain available at 519-352-4823. Both ServiceOntario locations in Chatham and Dresden will be closed, and CK Tourism offices will be closed, with information available online at visitck.ca.
Administrative offices for Public Works will be closed, but road and water/wastewater emergency services will remain available. The Provincial Offences Court will also be closed, though fines can be paid online at paytickets.ca.
At the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s Chatham and Wallaceburg sites, several services will be adjusted for the holiday. Some outpatient diagnostic testing will proceed as scheduled, and departments will remain staffed to meet inpatient and emergency needs.
Ambulatory care, outpatient rehabilitation, pre-surgical screening, diabetes education, pulmonary function, and outpatient lab services will be closed, along with the TIA and CAD clinics, Health Records, and Patient Appointment Offices. The Oncology/Chemotherapy Department, Business Office, Cashier’s Office, and Elston Pharmacy at the Chatham site will also be closed.
The Chatham-Kent Mental Health and Addictions Program outpatient department and the Rapid Access to Addiction Medicine clinic will be closed. Those experiencing a crisis can call 1-866-299-7447 or visit the nearest emergency department.
Hemodialysis care will remain open, and emergency departments at both the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will continue to operate 24 hours a day.
