OPP officials allege: A Corunna resident has been arrested and charged following a child sexual exploitation investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, with assistance from the Lambton OPP detachment and the OPP Digital Forensics Unit.
On October 8, 2025, police executed a search warrant at a residence in Corunna and seized a number of electronic devices. As a result, a 32-year-old from Corunna was charged with two counts of possession of child pornography, contrary to section 163.1(4) of the Criminal Code.
The accused was released from custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on January 13, 2026.
“As the number of child exploitation cases continues to rise, protecting children is more urgent than ever. It is not just a responsibility, it is a moral imperative. Each investigation reflects our unwavering commitment to safeguarding their right to safety and ensuring that offenders are held accountable,” said Detective Staff Sergeant Chris Barkey of the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit.
The OPP said the safety and protection of children remains a top priority, and the service is committed to identifying and pursuing individuals who use technology to exploit them. Parents are encouraged to talk to their children about internet safety. Resources are available at cybertip.ca and protectchildren.ca.
