Chatham woman charged in connection with stolen credit card investigation

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 54-year-old Chatham woman has been charged following a months-long investigation into the use of a stolen credit card.

Police say the investigation began on June 13, 2025, when the Ontario Provincial Police contacted Chatham-Kent Police regarding a theft. The card was used to make several unauthorized purchases at a gas station in Tilbury.

Officers identified the woman as the suspect, and a warrant was issued for her arrest. She was charged with fraud under $5,000, using a stolen credit card, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The accused surrendered to police on July 17 but failed to attend a scheduled court appearance on August 25, prompting a new warrant. She surrendered again to Chatham-Kent Police on October 20 and was released with conditions and a future court date.
