Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 43-year-old Chatham-Kent man has been arrested in connection with the theft of an e-bike earlier this month from a business on Wellington Street West.
Police said a 25-year-old Chatham man had parked his e-bike outside the business on Oct. 18 before going inside. When he came out, the bike was gone.
Officers reviewed surveillance footage from the business and nearby CCTV cameras, identifying the suspect. A warrant was later issued for his arrest.
On Oct. 28 at about 3:30 a.m., police located and arrested the man. He has been charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
The accused was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 9, 2025.
