Chatham-Kent police surpass fundraising goal at Rucksack March for Remembrance

Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service proudly took part in the annual Rucksack March for Remembrance at Kingston Park on November 1, completing a 22-kilometre march while carrying 50 pounds in support of Wounded Warriors Canada.

The event raises funds for programs supporting trauma-exposed professionals and their families, focusing on healing, recovery and well-being.

This is the third year the march has been hosted in Chatham, with CKPS members once again joining the effort. The team set a fundraising goal of $1,000 and exceeded it by raising $1,079.

In total, the Chatham event brought in $35,903, making it the highest-earning Rucksack March location across Canada this year.

“On behalf of our team and the event organizers, thank you to everyone for your generous support and donations. Your encouragement means a great deal to us and to those who benefit from these programs,” said Detective Josh Rose.

The CKPS team is already planning to participate again next year, with the next march set for November 7, 2026.
