OPP officials say poor weather and dangerous road conditions have led to the closure of Highway 402 eastbound between Oil Heritage Road and Kerwood Road in Warwick Township, according to the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police.
Police say the closure is expected to remain in place for several hours as crews work to remove vehicles and ensure the roadway is safe for travel.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area and postpone non-essential travel until conditions improve. Those who must travel are advised to drive with caution and adjust to the weather and road conditions.
The OPP reminds drivers that assistance is available anywhere in Ontario by calling 1-888-310-1122.
