Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Chatham woman turned herself in to police on Dec. 15 in connection with an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.
The warrant stems from an incident on June 20, 2025, when Chatham-Kent police responded to a report of an impaired driver. Police identified the driver as a 31-year-old woman from Chatham who was allegedly operating a motor vehicle while under a driving probation.
She was arrested at the time and charged with failure or refusal to comply with a demand and operation while prohibited. She was later released with conditions and a court date of July 10, 2025, which police say she failed to attend, leading to a warrant being issued.
At approximately 8:40 a.m. on Dec. 15, the woman attended Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters and turned herself in on the endorsed warrant. She was released with a new court date scheduled for Jan. 9, 2026.
