OPP officials allege: An individual is facing a charge following a traffic stop on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.
According to Ontario Provincial Police, a member of the Elgin County OPP stopped a passenger vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 401 in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent at approximately 10:26 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2025.
Police allege a 39-year-old resident of Michigan was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with driving a motor vehicle while performing a stunt, including excessive speed.
OPP remind drivers and members of the public to respect local communities, comply with all laws and avoid behaviour that puts the safety of others at risk. Anyone who observes impaired or dangerous driving is asked to report it by calling 911 or contacting the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122.
