OPP officials allege: Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a theft from a residence in the Municipality of Lambton Shores.
According to the Lambton County OPP, officers responded at approximately 1:45 p.m. on Dec. 17, 2025, to a report of a theft at a residence on Hickory Creek Line. Police say the incident occurred earlier in the afternoon, around 1:15 p.m.
Investigators allege an unknown individual attended the residence and posed as a worker offering eavestrough services. The individual was invited inside the home. While the homeowner briefly left the room, police say the suspect stole approximately $300 in cash from a wallet before leaving the property.
The suspect is described as a male believed to be between 45 and 55 years old, approximately 5-foot-5, and wearing a grey jacket, a blue hat and work boots.
The investigation remains ongoing. Lambton OPP are reminding residents to use caution when dealing with door-to-door service providers, including asking for identification, verifying the legitimacy of unsolicited services and avoiding letting unknown individuals into their homes.
