Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Chatham man was arrested on an outstanding warrant following a lengthy police operation on King Street East.
Police say the warrant stemmed from a disturbance reported on Nov. 1, 2025, when a verbal altercation escalated into a physical dispute and a woman was allegedly struck with a baseball bat. At the time, the accused was subject to a court order prohibiting possession of weapons.
On Jan. 4, 2026, at approximately 9:45 a.m., officers attended a residence on King Street East to execute a Feeny warrant. After the individual refused to exit, police established a perimeter and initiated negotiations. Officers gained entry shortly after 2 p.m., and the individual was arrested without incident.
The accused was transported to police headquarters and remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
