Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 44-year-old Chatham woman was arrested after turning herself in to police on an outstanding warrant related to a breach of her release conditions.
Chatham-Kent police said an investigation began on Dec. 29, 2025, after officers received information that an individual bound by a release order had attended a location she was prohibited from visiting. The conditions barred her from being within 100 metres of places associated with a 41-year-old male victim from Chatham. The accused had left the area before officers arrived, and a warrant was later issued for her arrest on a charge of failing to comply with a release order.
On Jan. 5, 2026, at about 9:30 a.m., the woman surrendered herself at police headquarters and was arrested on the strength of the warrant. She was transported to the South West Detention Centre, where she is being held in custody pending a video court appearance on Jan. 7, 2026.
