Two charged after violent assault investigation in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Two Chatham residents are facing multiple charges following a violent assault investigation on Indian Creek Road West.

Police say an 18-year-old woman attended a residence on January 22 and became involved in a physical altercation with two individuals. During the incident, the victim was assaulted multiple times, threatened, and had personal items taken. She was able to leave the residence but required medical attention.

Officers located both accused at the residence and arrested a 40-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man. The woman is charged with robbery with violence and assault, while the man faces several charges including pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, assault causing bodily harm, and assault.

Both accused remain in custody pending bail hearings.
