Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith signs two-year extension with Bakersfield Condors

Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith will remain a cornerstone of the Bakersfield Condors after the American Hockey League club announced the team captain has signed a two-year contract extension that keeps the franchise’s leading scorer in California through the 2027–28 season.

Griffith, 33, has built a record-setting career with the Condors, becoming the franchise leader in games played, goals, assists and points while leading the team in scoring in each of the past four seasons. This season, the Wallaceburg, Ont., native sits tied for fourth in the AHL scoring race with 39 points in 38 games.

“My family and I love Bakersfield and this organization,” Griffith said. “My kids were born here and it’s been a special place to play. I’m excited to continue growing the culture we’ve established here, developing, winning, and having fun.”

Now in his 13th professional season, Griffith continues to climb the AHL’s all-time lists. He ranks 29th in league history in regular-season scoring with 683 points in 722 AHL games. Last week, he reached another milestone by playing his 800th professional game, split between the AHL and 80 appearances in the NHL.

Griffith’s career has included two selections to the AHL All-Star Classic, two nods to the AHL Second All-Star Team and a First All-Star Team selection. Drafted in the fifth round of the 2012 NHL Draft by Boston, he has appeared in the NHL with Boston, Toronto, Buffalo, Florida and Edmonton, while spending time in the AHL with Providence, Toronto, Rochester, Manitoba and Bakersfield.
