Residents are being invited to attend a community information session later this month to learn more about WM Canada’s proposed Twin Creeks Environmental Centre Landfill Optimization Project.
The session is being held as part of an ongoing environmental assessment aimed at examining how the proposed project could affect the surrounding environment. Organizers say the session is intended to provide information and gather feedback from the community as the assessment process continues.
The drop-in event will take place Monday, Jan. 26, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Walpole Island Sports Complex on Tecumseh Road. Members of the WM team will be available throughout the afternoon to discuss the project, explain the environmental assessment process and answer questions from attendees. Information will be shared through display posters, with no formal presentation scheduled.
Organizers say the session is an opportunity for community members to learn more about the proposed project and to share their perspectives directly with the project team. Door prizes and dinner will be provided for those who attend.
