Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A break and enter investigation on Water Street in Chatham resulted in an arrest late Jan. 24.
Police were called around 10:22 p.m. and determined a 56-year-old Chatham-Kent resident forced entry into a residence by damaging a rear door, rendering it inoperable. Officers later located the suspect nearby, where police say he resisted arrest.
The individual was charged with break and enter into a dwelling house and resisting a peace officer. He was transported to the South West Detention Centre and remains in custody pending a court appearance on Jan. 26 by video.
