Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 38-year-old Chatham-Kent man has been arrested on an outstanding warrant in connection with a 2025 retail theft investigation.
Chatham-Kent police say that on Sept. 6, 2025, at approximately 9:30 a.m., officers responded to a reported theft at a retail store on St. Clair Street in Chatham.
Investigation revealed a man entered the store, selected several items of merchandise, concealed them and exited without making any attempt to pay, police said.
Through surveillance footage, the suspect was identified and officers formed reasonable and probable grounds to charge him with two counts of theft under $5,000 and one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest.
