Two charged after search warrant in Thamesville tied to Wallaceburg break-ins

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Two Thamesville residents are facing charges following a police search warrant connected to recent break and enter incidents in Wallaceburg.

Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers began investigating after responding to two separate break and enter calls at a business on Arnold Street on Feb. 14 and Feb. 16.

Through continued investigation, members of the Intelligence Unit developed information leading them to believe evidence related to the incidents was located at a rural property in the Thamesville area.

On Feb. 26, members of the Intelligence Unit, with assistance from the Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at the property.

Police said officers located a vehicle believed to have been used in both break and enter incidents. A 39-year-old male and a 38-year-old female, both from Thamesville, were arrested and each charged with two counts of break and enter and commit.

They were transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

The investigation remains ongoing.
