Chatham-Kent Public Health is alerting residents about a potential infection control lapse at a personal service business in Chatham.
Public health officials say they identified inadequate equipment disinfection practices at MicroFleek, located at 584 Queen St., with concerns related to services provided between Dec. 1, 2024, and March 6, 2026.
The agency says insufficient infection control procedures may increase the risk of transmitting blood-borne infections such as HIV or Hepatitis, as well as bacterial or fungal infections affecting the skin or nails.
Individuals who received services at MicroFleek during that timeframe are being advised to contact their health-care provider to arrange a clinical assessment.
Residents who do not have a primary health-care provider are encouraged to visit a walk-in clinic for evaluation.
