Linck Child, Youth and Family Supports is highlighting recent accessibility and communication improvements funded through a $39,400 capital grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
A representative from Chatham-Kent–Leamington MPP Trevor Jones met with staff at the Chatham-based agency Thursday to learn more about the upgrades supported by the provincial grant.
“Our government is proud to support Linck Child, Youth & Family Supports with this $39,400 Capital grant to improve access for youth and families in Chatham-Kent–Leamington. Upgrading their telephone system and enhancing site accessibility will help ensure timely, reliable connections to the programs and services families depend on. This investment strengthens Linck’s ability to continue building brighter futures for young people across our community,” Jones said.
Linck said the funding was used to install a new telephone system that allows staff to respond more flexibly to calls and messages while working in the field. The agency said responsive communication is critical when assisting children, youth and families who may be experiencing a mental health crisis or who are at risk of abuse or neglect.
The project also included repainting the agency’s main parking lot to improve accessibility and reduce barriers for people visiting the site.
“We are grateful to the Ontario Trillium Fund for supporting these projects which will strengthen our ability to respond to the needs children, youth, and families more effectively, ensuring that every young person has the opportunity to thrive,” said Linck executive director Teri Thomas-Vanos.
Linck Child, Youth and Family Supports is an accredited multi-service non-profit agency that provides mental health, child protection and developmental services for children, youth and families in Chatham-Kent.
