Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 41-year-old Chatham man has been arrested on an outstanding warrant following a series of incidents dating back to 2024.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said a vehicle was reported stolen on Nov. 19, 2024, within Chatham-Kent. On Nov. 29, 2024, at approximately 1:21 a.m., an officer observed the vehicle travelling westbound on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg.
A traffic stop was initiated, and the accused fled on foot. Officers later formed grounds to charge him with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On July 28, 2025, at approximately 4 p.m., the accused was located on Pine Street in Chatham and arrested on the outstanding warrant. He was released with a future court date of Sept. 22, 2025, which he failed to attend, resulting in another warrant being issued.
On March 24, 2026, at approximately 5:47 a.m., the accused was located on Grand Avenue West in Chatham and arrested on the strength of the outstanding warrant.
He was transported to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date.
