Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 34-year-old man has been arrested on an outstanding warrant in connection with an assault investigation dating back to 2025.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service say the incident occurred May 9, 2025, at a retail store on Grand Avenue, where the accused allegedly became verbally aggressive and threw an object at an employee, striking a 52-year-old victim. No injuries were reported.
Police said the accused was later located on Nov. 11, 2025, and released with conditions on Jan. 20, 2026. After failing to attend court on March 10, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On March 27 at about 3:18 p.m., officers located the man on Adelaide Street North and arrested him on the strength of the warrant. He was transported to police headquarters and later released with conditions.
He is scheduled to appear in court April 14, 2026.
