Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 50-year-old Tilbury man is in custody following an alleged breach of his release conditions related to a GPS monitoring device.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service says officers responded to a bail compliance complaint at a residence on Tecumseh Line on March 31, 2026, at approximately 10:21 a.m.
Police say the man had been released from custody on Oct. 31, 2025, with conditions that included wearing and maintaining a GPS monitoring device. Officers were notified that the device’s battery had critically failed after earlier warnings and confirmed it was no longer functioning or trackable.
The man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a release order. He was transported to police headquarters, where he is being held for bail.
