Two men charged after suspected stolen property found in U-Haul

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Two 47-year-old men from Chatham are facing charges after police investigated suspicious activity involving a U-Haul truck.

Chatham-Kent police say an off-duty officer observed individuals unloading suspected stolen property in an alley behind Lorne Avenue on April 10 at about 4:37 p.m.

Officers attended and located two men with the vehicle and property. Both were arrested and charged with theft over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

They were released with conditions and are scheduled to appear in court on July 10 and July 13, 2026.
