Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 34-year-old man from Chatham is facing an assault charge following an incident on Gray Street.
Chatham-Kent police say officers responded April 10 at about 4:32 p.m. to a report of an assault. A 24-year-old woman from Chatham was walking when she was approached by a man who began yelling at her, knocked a hot beverage from her hand and struck her in the abdomen.
Police said the woman did not sustain physical injuries. Officers located the accused nearby and arrested him.
He was charged with one count of assault and later released with conditions and a future court date.
