The Wallaceburg Minor Hockey Association is preparing for the upcoming 2026-27 season, with girls tryouts set to begin later this month as the program continues to expand.
Tryouts will start April 26, with sessions scheduled for U13 C, U15 BB and U18 C teams. Ice times will be held at Ken Houston Memorial Arena in Dresden and Chatham Memorial Arena, with players advised to monitor the association’s online calendar for specific locations.
Organizers say the growth of girls hockey in Wallaceburg remains a key focus heading into the new season.
“Our Lakers girls are paving the way for the continued growth of girls hockey in Wallaceburg and the future is SO bright! We’re excited to expand our program this year, with the addition of new teams and a continued focus on building a strong, competitive environment for all girls wanting to play on an OWHA team in Wallaceburg.”
Players are required to pre-register online through the association’s system, with a $60 tryout fee payable by e-transfer.
The association is also encouraging new participants, including those transitioning from co-ed hockey, to reach out for support with the registration process.
