Connie Langstaff

Connie Colleen Langstaff, of Wallaceburg passed away with her family by her side at Lambton Meadowview Villa on Friday, April 24, 2026 at the age of 79. Connie was the daughter of the late Clarence Freeman ‘Tenny’ Smith and Helen Emily Elizabeth (Shaw) Smith. Beloved wife of 62 years to Charles ‘Chuck’ Langstaff. Loving mother of Allan Langstaff (Kate Knight), Janet Keane (Brian) and Julie Martin (Steve). Dear grandmother of Brent, Brooke, Brett, Kate, Jack and Laura.

Connie lived a life filled with kindness, love, and family. She was proud of her home on the farm, where family and friends were welcomed, and everyone was greeted with a smile and a hug. You would often find her baking, sewing, or walking outside with her beloved dog, Zoe. Connie’s greatest joy was her family, and she loved all 6 of her grandchildren so very much. Each of them will carry forward her warmth, wisdom, and unconditional love. Nanny, we love and miss you so much.

Connie had retired from the Sydenham District Hospital Admitting and Switchboard Department. In that role, she served as a calm and caring voice for countless patients, families and colleagues…often at times when people
needed it the most. She always had a warm and smiling face people loved to see. That trait carried on throughout her life, where she was always known for her bright and beautiful smile. Even as her memory faded, her gentle nature,
warmth and the love she had given so freely remained deeply felt by those around her. Her family walked this journey with her, treasuring moments of connection and honouring the remarkable woman she had always been.

Though our hearts are heavy and broken, we are grateful for the life she lived and the love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in the family she raised and the many lives she touched. Mom, we love you, lots and lots.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the caregivers, healthcare workers, and support staff at Lambton Meadowview Villa who cared for Connie. You showed compassion, patience, and dignity during her stay. Your kindness, dedication and presence brought comfort not only to her, but to all who loved her. This will always be remembered with heartfelt appreciation.
