Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 21-year-old Chatham man is facing impaired driving charges following a traffic stop early Sunday morning.
Police say officers conducted a traffic stop on April 26, 2026, at approximately 3:21 a.m. in the area of St. Clair Street and Selkirk Street after observing a Highway Traffic Act violation.
Through investigation, officers formed grounds to believe the driver was operating the motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol.
The accused has been charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired (over 80 mg), disobey stop sign and fail to surrender licence.
He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters and later released with a future court date of June 24, 2026.
