A tribute concert celebrating the music of Foreigner and Journey is set to take the stage in Chatham this fall in support of local crime prevention efforts.
BenefitShow.net, in partnership with Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers, is bringing “FOREIGN JOURNEY: The Best of Foreigner and Journey” to the Chatham Capitol Theatre on Sept. 18 at 8 p.m.
Organizers say the show will feature a performance of popular hits from both bands, with musicians aiming to replicate the sound and style of the original groups through live vocals and instrumentation.
Proceeds from the event will support Crime Stoppers programs across Chatham-Kent, including its anonymous tip line, which allows people to report information about crime and potentially receive a cash reward if it leads to an arrest. Funding also goes toward community education initiatives such as the Children’s Safety Expo, safety updates and other crime prevention efforts.
“Last year we had a nearly sold out show for the Journey performance by this amazing group and we are very excited to have them bring this even bigger show to the Capitol Theatre this year,” said Erica McIntosh, program co-ordinator with Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers. “Not only is it a fun show for people of all ages to attend, but the funds raised go directly back into community crime fighting, prevention, and education programs.”
Organizers say the show aims to recreate the music of two of rock’s most well-known bands in a single performance. Ticket information is available here or by calling the BenefitShow.net ticket line.
